The Special Issue “Scaling Up Sustainability: life cycle assessment from the organisational perspective” aims to gather high-quality contributions that explore recent developments in organisational LCA approaches from an environmental and social point of view, including methodological advancements, novel applications, case studies, and interdisciplinary approaches.

The special issue covers research on organizational life cycle assessment (O-LCA) and social organizational life cycle assessment (SO-LCA), including:

• Methodological developments, indicators, and integration with other sustainability assessment frameworks.
• Social data collection, impact measurement, databases, and best practices.
• Pathway modeling, impact drivers, and links to the SDGs and planetary boundaries.
• Applications and case studies across different sectors.
• Use in reporting, CSR, supply chain management, and policy-making.
• Digitalization of assessments through AI, big data, and other digital tools.

Overall, it focuses on improving the methods, applications, and decision-support value of organizational life cycle sustainability assessments.
