SETAC Europe Best Publication Award

The SETAC Europe Best Publication Awards honour outstanding contributions to environmental sciences in the form of a publication in a peer reviewed scientific journal. 

Since 2008, SETAC Europe is nominating three Best Publication Awards. SETAC Europe is calling for nominations for the 2010 Best Publication Awards for papers published in the year 2009: 

  1. AstraZeneca Award for the best publication in Risk assessment, modelling and theoretical studies.
  2. Eurofins Award for the best publication in Chemical analysis and environmental monitoring.

The awards will be given to a student or early career scientist (within 2 years from PhD graduation OR within 5 years from MSc graduation if from industry) for the best publication in one of the award categories and published (or accepted for publication) in the year 2009 on work that formed the basis of undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

The recipient should be based in a geographical area administered by SETAC Europe (i.e. Europe and Africa).

The research published must be in the field of the environmental sciences and clearly related to one of the above mentioned award topics.

Only one publication can be submitted, and one category has to be selected for the submission.

The awards will be presented at the SETAC Europe 20th Annual Meeting in Seville on 23. May 2010.

To apply for one of these awards, please submit the following documents to the SETAC Europe office ( barbara.koelman@setac.org) by Friday 29 January2010:
  • the manuscript as pdf-file;
  • a CV, including date of birth, past experience and list of publications;
  • a statement, signed by the supervisor, confirming that the candidate was the     leading author for submitted article and that he/she carried out the main parts of the reported research.
