POST-DOCTORAL POSITION on ecodesign at the University of Grenoble (France)

JUNIOR RESEARCHER POSITION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GRENOBLE (FRANCE)
An industrial research project led by the University of Grenoble (G-SCOP Laboratory, France) together with two French (however multinational) companies from the electronic and electro-mechanical sector and funded by ADEME (French Environmental Protection Agency) is being launched for the period mid-2008 until mid 2010.
The research project aims at developing methods and tools to better manage energy consumption issue during the design of products.
University of Grenoble is today seeking a young researcher to lead and animate this project during 18 months.
REQUIREMENTS
An ideal candidate would:
- Have a thorough understanding (PhD or at least MSc level) of the design of industrial products, in particular from mechanical,
electr(on)ic or electro-mechanical sectors,
- Have knowledge on environmental assessment of products (LCA, etc.) and ecodesign,
- Have a taste for research in cooperation with industry,
- Be fluent in French or have good basics and be ready to improve it quickly.
Further valuable know-how and skills include:
- Electricity and energy management in products,
- Publications writing,
- Project management.
APPOINTMENT
- The mission is for 18 months and should start as early as possible from October 2008.
- The Junior Researcher will be based at G-SCOP laboratory at the University of Grenoble and will be attached to the “Product Ecodesign” team, that is composed today of 3 full-time researchers (Prof. Daniel Brissaud, Dr Peggy Zwolinski, Dr. Fabrice Mathieux) as well as numerous PhD and MSc students.
- The project will include several missions in Paris region as well as travel to conferences.
- The yearly salary will be € 27,960 (before taxes). This salary is in accordance with the University of Grenoble regulations for academic
personnel.
THE UNIVERSITY OF GRENOBLE

their European research and development centres.
G-SCOP research laboratory of the University of Grenoble is very well known in France and Europe. It is dedicated to research on innovation, design, production and logistics engineering and is composed of about 140 persons including 80 PhD students. Eco-design, Environmental impacts assessment and analysis, product-service systems are one of the main topics studied alongside with collaborative engineering and production management and optimization. The laboratory has been the head of the European network of excellence VRL KCiP (now the EMIRAcle association), which grouped together 24 European laboratory from 16 countries on engineering design.
