LCIA method "ecological scarcity 2006": report published
The update of the ecological scarcity method 2006 is published.
The final report (in German language with an english and french summary) is available at http://www.oebu.ch/oebu/downloads/oekofaktoren_sr28.pdf
The project profited from three kinds of know-how:
- The knowledge about the environmental goals and situation, covered by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN),
- the experience and needs of LCA practitioners, covered by oebu, the network for sustainable management, and private companies
- and LCA knowledge, covered by Arthur Braunschweig, E2 Management Consulting, and Rolf Frischknecht, ESU-services Ltd.
ESU-services Ltd. updated the eco-factors and advanced the method to embed additional environmental impacts such as water resource use, endocrine disruptors or land use.
The companies Bâloise, Credit Suisse, CTW-Strassenbaustoffe, Geberit, Migros and Coop formulated the requirements of practitioners on the update and shared their data in an on-road-test of the new ecofactors.
