Project Description: The Sustainability Assessment Unit activities include supporting the development of the European Platform on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This includes the International Reference Life Cycle Data System
(ILCD) Handbook and Data Network, the European Reference Life Cycle Database (ELCD), as well as the Directories and an online Forum. The Platform and associated projects support an increasing number of business and policy instruments in the context of sustainability; indicators, resource efficiency, environmental footprinting, etc. This project will provide support for the further development of the Platform, with a particular focus on life cycle inventory, databases, the data network, case studies, and related guidance for assessments.

Provisional starting date: 4th Quarter (November) 2011
