Dissemination of IPP tools in the furniture industries of Marche Region (Italy)

Main results achieved:

• Survey on a large number of furniture sector companies with the aim to create a database for benchmarking on  environmental performance (available on the project web site);
• Sector study and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) on kitchen furniture (including cooker hoods) and office furniture product chains. LCA activities involved six important companies and their supply chains in order to develop an LCA database and identify the significant environmental aspects;
• Application of TESPI, an  ecodesign software to generate an integrated design approach;
• Use by companies of specific software to evaluate product life cycle (eVerdEE);
• Product Category Rules (PCRs) for office desks and cooker hoods and assignment of an EDP label in compliance with the Swedish EPD Sistem (Swedish Environmental Management Council);
• Elaboration and implementation in some companies  of a POEMS system;
• Technical Table with public administrations on Green Public Procurement Procedures.
• Development of Sector Technical Guidelines available on-line to inform and support companies in IPP application.
