"Sustainable lifestyles"

This symposium is aimed at strengthening the life-cycle approach in our everyday life. The changing of lifestyles plays an essential role in the creation of more environmentally sustainable communities. A significant part of a community’s natural resources is used at the household level. Households are also a major source of a community’s environmental pollution.

This Case Study Symposium aims at bringing together initiatives, methods and case study results that contribute to a better understanding of the various dimensions concerning what a sustainable lifestyle can look like. The symposium seeks to cover studies on defining sustainable production and consumption patterns, including studies on nutrition, housing, mobility and tourism. It will be interesting to see case studies to stimulate new developments facilitating the measurement of sustainable consumption.

Presentations on environmental and socio-economic studies are both appreciated. Studies toward footprints (e.g. carbon, water, land, toxicants) on various levels of organisation (e.g. households or municipalities) in various regions of the world are welcome as well. Furthermore, we expect case studies that can present the role of LCA in the strategic or political decisions and law regulation shaping the lifestyle toward sustainability.
