International Conference on Life-Cycle Assessment

On behalf of the Organizing Committee and of the Scientific Committee we have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the second edition of the International Conference on Life Cycle Assessment – CILCA 2007.

Life Cycle Thinking is a change of paradigm that amplifies the focus of the environmental concerns, originally restricted, in the great majority of the cases, to the boundaries of each organization, to all the links of the productive chain aiming at the sustainability in a globalized society. This thought path can be translated, in practical terms, in the environmental management through the life cycle to develop more sustainable products and services. Life Cycle Management extrapolates the borders of countries and continents and therefore should be exercised in a consistent way, economically and geographically integrated.

In this framework CILCA 2007 continues the pioneering effort of the CILCA 2005 (held in San José, Costa Rica) to further consolidate Life Cycle Thinking and Life Cycle Management in Latin America and to increase the integration between this region and others where this theme has been studied to greater detail.

In this way, CILCA 2007 presents itself as a privileged forum for the exchange of experience, knowledge and information between all the interested parties.
